The flowers are beautiful at all stages, from the rounded, globular buds to the fully open, many petalled, shallow cups. The color commences as a rich yellow, gradually softening over time. It has a pleasing fresh scent that is hard to define, but is described by our expert as similar to the fragrance we experience when we walk into a florist’s shop. This is a medium-sized shrub, with gracefully arching growth, numerous branches and nicely poised flowers. There is plenty of luxurious, light green foliage. Named in honor of the Royal National Rose Society, the first society of its kind, which founded in 1876 and based in St. Alban’s, Hertfordshire.

Alos known as the "Yellow Frau Dagmar Hastrup,"  this is one of the few, if only, repeat blooming yellow roses of the rugosa family, which are known for their cold hardiness, disease resistance, and fragrance.  This bush benefits from a harder pruning than what most rugosas need.  The shrub can kept anywhere between 2 to 5 feet high, and can get 7 feet wide if you let it. Beautiful medium yellow open faced blossoms have approximately 20 petals and they have a strong fragrance with a clove scent, similar to Hansa.  Not as vigorous as most rugosas to start.  Once established, they can be pruned regularly to half their size.  This rose is a descendent of Belle Poitevine and Golden Angel.

The hybrid tea rose George Dickson was first bred in 1912 in the United Kingdom by Alexander Dickson.  Dickson was a famous rose breeder based out of Northern Ireland who began hybridizing roses back in 1879.The tops of the petals are a bright red scarlet color, while the backs of the petals are a faded maroon color.  The blooms have a strong tea scented fragrance. A blend of crimson, scarlet and brighter shades. Fragrant, very large and double. A weak neck in some weather conditions should not put you off this lovely old variety.

They have a rich, fruity fragrance with a refreshing sharpness. ‘Abraham Darby’ is an excellent, vigorous, medium-sized shrub. It has a bushy, arching habit and large, polished, rather modern leaves; flower, growth and leaf are all in proportion and never clumsy. Named to celebrate the inventor Abraham Darby, who, with his son and grandson, played an important part in the industrial revolution.
